Agreed 100% ...this is a great movie and even though there had been a 6-year gap between LW3 and this one they still treated it the same. For example if they made a LW today they would have to go through all the jokes of how old they are now and come up with a reason why near-60 year-old guys are chasing down bad guys.
That's the problem with sequels made years later. The signs of age and the passing of time have too much affect on the film. Indy 4 is a unique example of a belated sequel that kind of straddles the fence. It's heart is in the right place, the same stars, same director, same basic premise of previous films. However, it suffers because it doesn't use the same type of special effects as the earlier films and the violence is toned way down. I enjoy the movie but there are things that bother me about it too.
