Lethal Weapon and Die Hard

I still think a crossover movie would be awesome. Teaming up heroes has worked in the past. Take The Avengers for example. Then you have movies like The Expendables that bring together all of the action heroes for one movie. I say a Lethal Weapon and Die Hard movie can be done. I'd love to see John McClane team up with Riggs and Murtaugh.

Die Hard is already ruined by 4.0 and the new one, dont ruin Lethal Weapon too.

Die Hard 4 is actually really good and what revived the series, Die Hard 5 is what killed it.

He's right. Everything from DH 4 was ported over to DH 5. The same ott action, forgettable characters, another weak director and clueless writer. SuperMcClane from 4 returns in 5 swinging from helicopters instead of jets. Once again no trace of the ordinary, vulnerable, reluctant, yet tough-as-nails policeman from the first three movies, replaced with an inhuman Arnold knock-off who shows no fear. Bruce Willis is phoning it in once again. His son has issues with him just like his daughter did in 4 but by the end he'll love him again. Also, both 4 and 5 are the only movies in the series that span over more than a day taking away that tension that the other movies had. The series ended well with Vengeance and didn't need reviving. People love to blame DH 5 for ruining the series while part 4 gets away unscathed and this makes no sense to me whatsoever because 4 essentially laid the groundwork for what we saw in 5.

Yeah that baffles me as well jcmgee. The mindblowing fanboy love that DHINO part 1 gets makes no sense whatsoever.

Terrible/corny/witless writing compliments of Mark Bomhack. Total shift in overall tone due to the watering-down to PG from an R-rated franchise. Bad acting throughout from the pathetic youth-oriented casting. Toilet-paper thin and utterly forgettable characters ( rendering all villains in the movie instantly forgettable ). An unfocused/convoluted and dull plot that unfolds over THREE goddamn days or so. Awful color-grading throughout, placing it in the generic *TEAL & ORANGE* cesspool of it's other dull PG-13 modern day contemporaries. Phony/sanitized WAY-ott action with ZERO edge, grit, or tension. Odd pacing/editing issues, and a half-asleep Bruce Willis that looked indifferent, bored, and at times.....just annoyed at being in this lame ass movie............

...and some of the the absolute worst McClane lines that were delivered like fan-nerd tokens rather than steaming organically from McClane's sardonic personality >>>
"That'll wake the neighbors"/... "Is there a circus in town ?"/... "Keep still Spider boy" ......... so damn cringe worthy, all of it.

Yet however, we're told this mediocre Michael Bay-lite pos is a good ( even great ) Die Hard movie, while A Good Day, which had all the EXACT same issues,......is somehow the worst movie ever made.

It baffles my fµ©!<ing mind

BOTH films are complete excrement that soiled the Die Hard franchise that came before them. Insults to fans and to cinema alike. I'll never understand why DHINO 2 is getting all the hate for committing all the same offences as DHINO 1.

notch me down as a guy that enjoyed Die Hard 4.0

it was just as good as Die Hard 2, not as good as 1 or 3

reply

Die Hard 4 was awful, it was nothing like the first 3 and just felt like some other formulaic modern techy action movie they decided at least minute to make a Die Hard movie.

I thought Die Hard 5 had much better action and so much more potential but they sadly never developed a story, or tried to make it feel like the first 3, and the son was lame.

reply

Everybody's talking about the last two Die Hard sequels. My idea, a crossover of Lethal Weapon and Die Hard wouldn't be a Die Hard sequel. Nobody's even talking about Lethal Weapon here. Only how much they hated the last two Die Hard movies.
