That guy in the beginning.


The one with the flame thrower and machine gun. What the hell was the point of that guy. He seemed pretty out of nowhere. Why was he even doing that? It wasn't even explained why.

fact is stranger than fiction... there's no shortage of wackos in this world, and does there have to be an explanation for his actions? Sometimes it's nice to have some things left open to interpretation and the imagination of a particular viewer..

I'm more surprised that Murtaugh stripped and got in the line of fire. That whole scene though is hilarious though.

Just a cool way to start the movie. It's like when you watch a James Bond movie it always opens with the conclusion of one of Bond's missions that has nothing to do with the movie you're about to see.

He was just pure evil. He wanted to cause destruction for his own amusement. Like Alfred said in The Dark Knight, some people just want to watch the world burn. That seemed to be the case with him.
