I've always dreamed of Lethal Weapon 5 and Bad Boys 3.

share4 came out in 98, so if a fifth movie would've come out in 2000, or maybe even 2001, it couldve been a decent idea, but now? I really don't think it would work. Besides, those are late 80s, early to mid 90s kinds of movies. I don't really think it would work again now (and who knows if Danny Glover would even be willing to work with Mel Gibson again after some of Mel's recent remarks?). I just hope that the remake monster doesn't get this franchise too.

shareA 5th installment is all what we need. Whether it's a good or bad sequel has really no importance. We just want new stuff, for fun and enjoyment.
I don't understand the people who say that the Lethal Weapon series should stop with the 4th one. They often use fanboys' arguments. Maybe these people want less movies, or maybe they do believe we have enough of them. Or else, maybe they have lost confidence in the cinema industry.
More movies means at the same time more good and more bad movies. That's how it goes: there HAS to be more bad movies. It's in the equation.
But what I know for certain, is that more movies will give us additional chances to kill time wisely, more food for thought and more fun. That's why I want plenty, plenty of new movies.
We're now in 2012 and we need to have this 5th Lethal Weapon done.

I don't want it, but if they make it i'll watch it. And so will a LOT of people. Mel's career could use the buff and Glover must want to put some cash in the bank for his family since he's almost coffin filler.

Actually it was canceled by Donner due to negotiation problems.

Mel has pretty much killed his own career with his off-screen disasters.
Since LW is supposed to be a semi-family type action-movie franchise, Mel's behavior has made him Kryptonite to the major studios. Maybe at some point he can come back in some kind of hard-R indie type of movie, but not in a major franchise.
Glover is 65 and his involvement would have to be pretty much as "Retired Roger" at this point.
They probably should have made a push to do LW5 in 2002-04, sometime around then.

I'm a big fan of the series, but a 5th one is really beating a dead horse. There's two big reasons to not do another film:
1.) Riggs is no longer a "lethal weapon". He's now married with a family and his whole character arc from the original is completed.
2.) Murtaugh should be retired. Considering Danny Glover's age and the fact that he was constantly quipping "I'm too old for this s##t", Murtaugh should be out of the force by now and enjoying time with his grandchildren, fishing on his boat, whatever.
riggs should be the old guy in 5 and murtaugh's daughter that liked riggs should be his partner.

I've going back and forth on this one getting made. I say let it rest with part 4 but if the studio insist on a fifth then could focus on butters and his new partner. Write it so that riggs and murtaugh are retired and pass it to the younger guys. If the purist complain, give the Martin and Roger a cameo. But like I said, I think it should end with 4.
