Can't believe I never noticed

How similar anakins turn is to darth vaders turn in ROTJ. His emotions led to the fall of the republic and later his emotions led to the fall of the empire. The more I study the prequels, the more I see what was clearly Lucas' vision for them

It's moments like these that really made me appreciate the prequels. There is so much detail and depth that I think
unfortunately goes unnoticed.

I agree. These movies have so many hidden great elements that make up for all the obvious bad ones. Another one I just realized that was also so similar was how anakin has dooku defenseless and Luke has Vader defenseless. Both scenes show palpatine watching them encouraging them to just kill them. Luke makes the choice his father couldn't and spared the life. It really shows how each generation faces the same choices and problems but learn from the mistakes of those before them. I think these things are Star Wars at its best.

It might go unnoticed because despite whatever Lucas' intentions may have been his execution was awful. Scripts written long after casting and sets were built and his building the movie in post production approach led to the movies being unfocused.
