Best of the prequels
Although their are still flaws in Lucases story I rate it the best out of the three
shareAlthough their are still flaws in Lucases story I rate it the best out of the three
shareAgreed 100%
shareRevenge of the sith is the worst of the prequels
it has the worst dialogue and acting from the prequels.
the plot is completely predictable, there was NO TRANSFORMATION, all of a sudden he is completely evil and kills 5 years old kids without hesitation, huh?.
dying at child-birth must be COMPLETELY curable in the star wars galaxy, particularly Coruscant.
all of a sudden Obi wan has 110% chance of defeating Anakin just for being 4 meters above of him?
just because Vader is on it for 2 minutes your nostalgia makes you think it is as good as the Original trilogy
The stupid have one thing in common. They alter the facts to fit their views not the other way
I wont talk about the writing since that is an subjective question, i will scream at you about the Obi-Wan Anakin duel compliant though.
You've clearly never bothered to open google and actually search Obi-Wan and Anakin, which is fine. But dont complain.
Anakin is a user of Juyo lightsaber form. It is extremely aggressive, you hit your opponent with all your power. You figuratively and literally strike through their defenses, most duels end before a minute has passed. For example, look at Anakins duel with Darth Tyrannus. It was extremely short, that was because Anakin successfully cut through Tyrannus's defenses and killed him.
Obi-Wan is a user of the Soresu form. Which is highly defensive. You block your enemy's strikes over and over again until your enemy runs out of energy, at which point you lash out and kill him. Soresu was basically built to fight Juyo. Juyo relies on breaking your opponents defenses in a matter of seconds, whilst Soresu is built to be able to defend yourself for a sustained time period.
That is why Obi-Wan won. Not because he had the higher ground but because his entire fighting style was practically built around defeating Anakin's fighting style.
Anakin was a better duelist, which is why the duel lasted so long. But Obi-Wan won because his entire fighting style was just made to defeat Anakin.
Do complain about poor acting and writing, but you can't complain about something that is clearly explained by a simple google search.
Chaotic mess, those lightsaber battles. They show just how superficially the whole trilogy was treated by its creators. First Darth Maul defeats two Jedi and their amazing fighting style (he dies just as stupidly as Anakin so I won't even bother with that). Then so does Darth Tyranus. Then the most powerful of them all, Anakin, is defeated by a single Jedi, the same one that lost the two previous fights because, wow, his fighting style - that got his arse whooped twice - is all of the sudden superior to all others. It's insulting to my intelligence and people trying to justify this final outcome are even more so.
Anakin was defeated because the original trilogy required it. And because Good must always prevail over Evil, to keep the masses happy and pockets fat.
"If you want to improve, be content to be thought foolish and stupid."
That's because you haven't looked at the lore. Simple as that. I don't blame you, and I personally think that George Lucas really should had put this stuff in the movie.
But to oversimplify it. Its a rock-paper-scissors game. No one is a better fighter than anyone else. Dooku beat Obi-Wan because Dooku's style is good against Obi-Wans. Anakin defeated Dooku because his style is good against Dooku's. Obi-Wan defeated Anakin because his style was better than Anakin's.
Dooku is rock.
Obi-Wan is scissors.
Anakin is paper.
And your comments about how light defeats evil are quite frankly ludicrous.
Remember how it end with the good guy turning to the dark side?
Remember how the good guys are slaughtered by the sith?
Episode 3 is by far the darkest one in the franchise, and whilst I will be the first one to admit that me thinking Episode 3 was good is an unpopular opinion, I will not admit that saying Episode 3 is the darkest is just my opinion.
there was NO TRANSFORMATION, all of a sudden he is completely evil
My second favorite of the 6.
All too easy
Wow that's embarrassing
shareI have to agree, the sequels are ridiculously one sided. There is no real suspense in them, from the start of episode 4 to the end of episode 6 there is never any doubt.
The Stormtroopers cant hit a barn from the inside and Luke Skywalker is basically Star wars Jesus.
Its really hard to enjoy them when you know that the 'good guys' will win.
Episode 1 was horrible in all ways, don't think i need to explain why.
Episode 2 has its moments, like when the clone army was first introduced. That was a badass scene. But they spent to much time on Padmé and Anakin, a romance that no one cared about.
Episode 3 still had the bad acting of Anakin in the first part, but Hayden really nailed evil Anakin in the end.
He was genuinely scary when he marched on the Jedi Temple. The fighting choreography was superb, the story was amazing. The 'good guys' actually lost! For once a star wars movie was actually realistic and shocking!
It did spend a little to much time on Padmé, but most of it was superb. The writing was pretty bad, i admit. But the fighting was superb, the story was superb, the acting was superb (atleast in the later half)
Overall i do think its the best movie, because unlike the sequels it is a movie instead of a 4 hour long Propaganda tape.
Being the best of the prequels is not saying much. Its like saying which one sucked the least and now that I think about it I actually think this one is the worst. I naively went to see this hoping that this would be good, thinking that this was THE ONE that would tie everything together, sigh, well I was wrong.
shareIt has it moments
It is the least terrible, but that is hardly an achievement.

In some ways it's the worst movie simply because it has the most solid material to work with and fumbles most of it.
