shareMore than likely. Anakin would have looked like a hero by finding out about Palpatine and conveying the information to the council. It would have also shown that he was capable of following orders.
With Palpatine dealt with, Obi-Wan and Yoda would have returned to Coruscant to find the Senate voting for a new chancellor, and the Jedi order not only fully intact--but more powerful with Anakin as its newest Jedi Master.
