Would Qui Gonn have joined Count Dooku?

Count Dooku mention how Qui Gonn Jinn knew about how the republic was corrupt, while the rest of the jedi council either don't care or are to stupid to realize it.

If Qui gonn Jinn had defeated Darth maul and survived would he have joined Count Dooku?

Qui-Gon is written as an older hippy, who doesn't like authority and rebels 'against the man'. He's a non-conformist (per his discussion with Obi-Wan how he could get back on the council if he'd just follow the rules). I think it fits with his character that he might join Dooku if Dooks could convince him that things can be changed.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"

reply

Of course not, but he would have investigated Dooku's claims about Palpatine being the Sith Lord in control of the Senate/Republic, unlike Obi-Wan--who did diddly squat with Dooku's 'spill the beans' information.

reply

I dont think Qui Gonn would have joined him, i can't see him killling jedi and innocent people.

reply

Maybe he would've just, ya know, messed with peoples minds and stole stuff.

reply

I wouldn’t say “diddly squat”, in Revenge of the Sith, once Palpatine outed himself, several characters said he was the Sith Lord they were looking for, implying there was an investigation of some kind after Dooku spilled the beans.

reply

Problem with Dooku if you remember he said he was aligning himself with the dark side too. In other words what he was saying to Obi-wan was just double talk, much like Republicans do IRL, but Obi-wan wasn't gullible enough to fall for it. Conclusion, the situation was complicated, really complicated. Basically it was like two lords of the dark side getting everyone to fight one another, before the good folks realized Palpatine wasn't on their side.

Realizing the Jedi were supporting a corrupt government doesn't mean joining the Sith was the only alternative!

No, if Qui-Gon had lived and had realized what was going on, and that the Jedi Council were becoming Palpatines stooges, he'd have gone rogue rather than join the Sith. And if I still wrote fan fiction, I'd follow up on that idea, maybe invent a rogue Jedi who's fighting for good rather than fighting Palpatine's war.

It was kind of complicated. The Republic was corrupt because they were being led by the Sith Palpatine right but at the same time Count Dooku was his own form of evil. Why did he fight and hate the Jedi and admit to being on the dark side? Wasn't he really in league with the Dark side, and the Sith in the end, just like Trump fooled so many people into thinking he wasn't on the dark side, Dooku and Palpatine did the same?
