I may have missed the ending

*****Note: Spoilers follow*****

I taped this movie, let the tape run 2:30, but when I watched it, it seemed to end in the middle of nowhere, and I didn't see the closing credits, leading me to believe I may not have gotten it all.

The last thing I saw was the conversation between Daryl and Gloria at the airport, where she said, "Goodbye, Daryl Zero".

If there is anything beyond this, I would be grateful if someone would tell me how this ends.

Thank you for the kind reply. Firstly, I'm not an American. Secondly, if the TV listings say that the movie will run 2:30, that's what I program the machine for. If the program runs longer than what the listings say, then I don't get all of it. It's real simple. Even you should understand that. I hope it makes you feel better about yourself to put someone else down.

By the way, there is no apostrophe when words are pluralized, and Americans is capitalized. Learn to spell.

Hopefully I can be a bit more helpful than your first respondent. You did indeed miss the last couple minutes of the film, although you got the gist. Zero sends the heroine on her way, and both are left with a nagging feeling that they should have stayed together. The film's other loose ends are quickly tied up as well before it ends with a nice little voice-over coda featuring more of Zero's clever wordplay, inclduing a reference to the college-age poetics of Ryan O'Neal's character.

If you really liked the movie (I absolutely love it) I'd suggest renting the DVD so you can watch it complete. It's a very nice ending to a great movie.

And after you watch the DVD the regular way, watch it with the director's commentary track. Jake talks for those 2+ hours by himself....and he is interesting and funny. AND there is an informal contest of sorts...the best part is where right at the end, he thanks me.

Thanks, for taking the time to clarify that for me.
