Does anyone know if the gun shown used by the bad guy is actually a production model, or was it just knocked together by the special effects department? It was sort of a cross between an M-16 and a Mini gun like the one jesse ventura uses in predator, and Arnie in terminator 2.

Its just a prop, you can see that the gun is only firing out of a barrel in the middle and not from any of the spinning ones. There are a lot of fake guns in this movie, a couple minutes later when the SWAT team runs in Lauren points a pistol at them and you can see that it doesn't have a barrel and it looks like it's made of rubber. Even on VHS on a crappy TV!
