the length and the width of the movie are both good ;) fans of curb your enthusiasm should know what that means.

Oh man... Larry David is great.

Well then maybe you should just bend over and kiss my ass? And maybe next time you'll remember to pick up the ****ing golfball.

That is a funny movie, i got it in the walmart 5.50 bin. I didnt like it as much as Seinfeld or CYE because i didnt have enough time to warm up to the characters, but still really funny. Its like a one hour and 30 minute Seinfeld episode with differnt characters.

How did you not have time to warm up to the Seinfeld characters? Its on syndication once an hour on TV.

A copy of a copy of a copy...

reply

He means the characters in Sour Grapes, not Seinfeld, dumbass.

The reason this film was poorly received is because the humorous writing is probably more suitable for a series such as CYE and Seinfeld, rather than in a feature film. I did like it though...as will you.

Generally speaking, I've found that people who are a fan of Seinfeld and CYE also like this film. Many don't think it is a masterpiece or anything, but they for the most part enjoyed it. Larry definitely has his game-face on.

Larry shouldn't have shot out and directed it, but he didn't want any confrontation with his script so thats what happened. If he had a little bit of better direction.

In heaven everything is fine

Hard to say, as Curb Your Enthusiasm can be both appreciated and hated for various reasons. Seinfeld is objectively great, Curb Your Enthusiasm splits opinions - I don't always like it much due to all the yelling and cursing, but some episodes have a good story to them, and interesting interactions as well. I also like some of the beautiful locations and such.

This movie, however, is not as good as a 'good Curb Your Enthusiasm'-episode, it's definitely one of the worse ones.

It's based on one idea that can't carry a whole movie, and then suddenly some weird elements were added, like the hobo and the suit and the tumor or whatever, and it just becomes an agonizing mess.

The MAIN problem, in my opinion, is that the movie plods along so slowly and somewhat predictably, and the over-used musics become boring and irritating. The movie could've used some tightening, some better jokes, more clever twists, and better directing, I suppose.

It's like a below-mediocre TV episode stretched to an unnaturally long length, and as an audience, you feel it as heavy boredom, as the plot doesn't seem to really go anywhere.

Larry is many things, but his movies prove he's really not a movie-, or filmmaker.
