Not even that bad.
It just needs better characters/actors.
Imagine if you took this exact plot and some of the dialogue and put it into a seinfeld episode. It would have been great.

I was thinking the same thing. I kept saying to myself, that guy is George, thats Jerry and she is Elain. All and all a good movie though.
