BEAUTIFUL French countryside...

While there's a lot of blood and violence in this movie I have to admit, I think many of the shots of countryside France were spectacularly beautiful and wonderfully filmed. The green trees, the fields, the clouds in the sky... it's all amazingly BREATHTAKING to look at! 

Anyone else agree?

Save the trees. Wipe your ass with owls!

It's nice all right, but those bits were all shot in England. Only the Omaha beach part was shot in Ireland.
EDIT! It seems that I'm wrong, some parts were shot in Calvados, France, according to the locations in the film notes. Don't know which bits though.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Normandy is so beautiful! All these now peaceful beaches with remains from the WWII. Also, the cemeteries: Normandy American Cemetery that we see in the opening scene of SPR is awesome. Definitely worth visiting!
