Uncredited Rick Moranis cameo?

On screen for less than 15 seconds, the guy who comes out of the water with Capt. Miller but then gets immediately shot. I have wondered if is indeed RM.

reply

I did not see him. If he was there your eyes are better than mine.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar and doesn't.

reply

It sure looks like him. Coming out of the water, still more than waist deep, he is shot thru the chest mid sentence. Miller lets him go and he sinks below the water.

reply

It's not him. Moranis was 45 years old when this movie was filmed, and he looked much different than the young soldier you're referring to.
All of the beach extras were members of the Irish Army Reserve.

"Oh yeah, one more thing....where can I get a pizza?."

reply

Aye, it was actually a young Irish soldier called Mick M. O'Ranis.

Sorry.

Trust me. I know what I'm doing.

Correct. A sterling performance I might add

reply

The actor who played that role actually appeared on the Graham Norton show of 25 Nov. 2016 ( S20, Ep8 ) and talks to Hanks while sitting in the red chair.

I figured I'd watch SPR after watching the show actually :>

reply

the guy in the movie you are talking about is named "Adam Shaw"

reply

I always thought he looked like Moranis, too!

There are two more look-alikes. The German sniper looks like a young Harrison Ford, and one shot of Giovanni Ribisi when the wrong Ryan is breaking down looks like a young John Lithgow.
