About this movie ....

I actually think this movie was fairly good if considered by itself .
I mean I know it's not an easy job playing Orson Welles but the main role was not well casted . I think Vincent D'onofrio playing Welles in Tim Burton's Ed Wood was more acceptable . However I still think RKO 281 was very useful to make people understand how great Citizen Kane is . I encourage projects like this even if the movie that comes out is nothing special .

Now if only Vincent D'onofrio had the voice(orson's voice was provided by the voice actor of brain in Pinky and the Brain).

What an exellent day for an exorcism!

Thought Liev Schreiber was fabulous. Vincent D'Onofrio was kinda of attractive but remember, the young Orson Welles was pretty dishy. Consider Rita Hayworth!

I also thought Liev Schreiber did a great job! Even though he doesn't look like Orson Welles that much, his voice really did the trick as far as I'm concerned.
As to Welles' looks, I recently watched a wonderful bonus material in the french edition of "The Magnificent Ambersons" DVD, with a rare taped interview of Welles (obviously made many years later). In this interview, Welles said that he was particularly self conscious about his nose for some reason... He claims that he was wearing as much make up to play the young Kane as to play the old one!
Anyway to me Liev Schreiber managed to show the sort of malicious charm that made him credible as Orson Welles. And anyway, if you're a big Welles fan, you know it's all about illusions!

Finally watched the blasted thing. I thought Liev had it nailed. He pulled off the WAY he talked, the pitch wasn't half bad, he certainly had something of his PRESENCE... a round of applause for Liev.
I don't care for bio pics. too much information to fit in, and they usually change stuff anyway. this was something alot more specific, gave me a peek into one part of a man's life that i can't seem to learn enough about. suppose they fudged a few things, pushed stuff around, they still put me there. in that moment, the way it must have felt. Man, I'd give anything to be that brave, and that passionate.

I have yet to see this one. I bought my first big screen yesterday, so I will make this a priority. I live near where Orson Wells was born, Kenosha Wis. What I have learned from "Citizen Kane" is for me to direct a picture I must write it.
