The Parker's family car.

The "trivia" section lists the family car as a 1949 Buick convertible. I did some checking and its actually a 1952 Buick Roadmaster convertible. The scenes where Bud is driving his girl to lovers lane is perfect with Etta James singing "At Last" on the radio and the cherry blossoms falling all around.

You may as well go to perdition in ermine; you're sure to come back in rags. Katharine Hepburn

It is a beautiful car, isn't it? I can picture one of those old 1950s cartoon ads for the Buick Roadmaster convertible with George and Betty depicted as riding around in it. Doesn't seem like it was used much, though, considering it looks like George and all of the other husbands walked to work lol.

There was no place to go! Remember the classroom scene where they talked about Pleasantville, where it begins and ends, and no roads leading out of town!

Oh, it's the most exquisite and romantic scene I've ever watched. I adore this movie.
