Hahahaha - after watching this movie over and over throughout the years I just noticed Meredith listening to 'Parents Just Don't Understand'

Yeah, but wouldn't it have been better to have her listening to Britney Spears or something lame like that? Old school rap didn't seem to fit her character.

The song came out in 1988, 10 years before the film. Why would a 26 year old listen to that song in her car, out of all the possible songs???

Maybe it just happened to be playing on the (pretend) radio at the time...Otherwise it does'nt seem like Merediths style of music, I agree.

Because she listened to it when she was 16 and still likes it. I still listen to songs from 10 years ago.

Maybe because she listened to it when she was 16, and the director wanted to convey that she never really grew up?
