I was between eleven/twelve when Mulan came out and my parents took me to the theater to see it and I was so enchanted with Mulan because she was tough and brave like I was and after my parents took me to the theater my mom went in to Target and bought me the Matchmaker Magic Mulan doll which I still have and I even dressed up as Mulan in a homemade costume which proved how much Mulan obsessed I was. In fact when I had a bad surgery I really connected with Mulan because she was really brave about her bad injury just like I was but she managed it like a pro. I also liked the opening scene when Mulan is sitting in bed eating a bowl of rice because she could do things while eating at the same time. This scene is probably where I learned how to eat in my room and is such a cool scene. Was I surprised that Mulan would be a hit movie? I think it was because I didn't know that the real Mulan story existed and I had never heard the story of the real Mulan before. I think Mulan will become the popular Disney Princess again with the release of the live action version coming next month because I strongly feel that Mulan is a good role model for girls to look up to because of her toughness and bravery
