Admittedly, I always thought that scene was way over the top and should have been cut. I saw this part of the movie today on TV and was surprised that they didn't show Zorro's brother's head at all! I guess they edited it out. They should have left the whole scene out or showed the head. If I hadn't seen this movie before, I would have wondered what was happening...

I never cared for the sub-plot of Love collecting the body parts of his victims either. It was way too over-the-top and kooky. I think it was supposed to make him more menacing and evil but all it did was seem out of place.

He killed Zorro's brother, made a few attempts to bang the woman Zorro loved and killed a few innocents. He was already evil enough.

The real Captain Love did put heads in alcohol.
