Who do you think is the best Zorro ever?

I think Tyrone Power is the best ever Zorro with Guy Williams coming in at close second.

Here is a list of the well know actors that had played Zorro.

Douglas Fairbanks - The Mark of Zorro (1920)
Tyrone Power - The Mark of Zorro (1940)
Frank Langella - The Mark of Zorro (1974)
George Hamilton - Zorro, The Gay Blade
Antonio Banderas - The Mask Of Zorro (1998) / The Legend of Zorro (2005)
Guy Williams - Zorro - 1957 Disney TV series
Duncan Regehr - Zorro -1990 TV series

Delon actually did a pretty decent job of it back in the early 70's ;

Antonio was the best..

To be fair, I haven't seen all of them. But my personal favourite (not necessarily the best) is Antonio. He's the one I always associate Zorro with.

reply

Antonio Banderas. He's charming like no one else!

reply

My personal favorite is Tyrone Power, but that's because it's my favorite of the Zorro movies. Antonio Banderas did a great job, though - he's second.

iv only seen three zorros
Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins and the latin actor christian Meyer from Telemundo´s soap opera "zorro the sword and the Rose"

I loved Banderas and Hopkins they were equally great

The actor who played zorro in the the Soap Opera was terrible and his Girlfriend wasnt as pretty as Catherine Zeta Jones

reply

I agree. I used to call him the "pendejo" Zorro.

reply

Lol great middle name for that Zorro.

reply

You left out Peruvian actor Christian Meier who played Zorro in the 2007 Telemundo hit telenovela.

Although I did see the old tv show of Zorro's, it was the Mask that really got me into Zorro. As in appreciate the character. Antonio is simply charming and Zorro's character just seems more applicable to him. Well he and Zorro do share the same ethnicity so that adds to the overall effect.

Guy Williams for sure then Tyrone Power. I respect Banderas for doing the character a great justice but I dont put him with the above two.

reply

Tyrone Power was the best in my opinion

Duncan Regehr - Zorro -1990 TV series, that was my first introduction to Zorro and thanks to that series, Zorro is another hero to me. This film was great just wished that it stuck closer to it's original nationality, Spainish which is why they had all latino cast. Sorry that is just me but I still enjoyed the film nonetheless.

Tyrone Power.

Having watched the Disney series with Guy williams, his personality is very similar to Antoio's. Guys ZORRO was the the original one, Antonio's was a replacement. Their characters had fun and were fun to watch. That was the intention. I think the other movies were more serious, Very good, I enjoyed all the ZORRO movies.

I'm with red, Duncan Regehr was my Zorro. When that show came on I was 10 and loved it.

You were fantastic...absolutely fantastic...and d'you know what? So was I.

reply

Thanks, Tyrone Power wasn't so bad either.

Spanish as a nationality is a European one (Spain, country in Europe)So latinos should be Americans or mexicans as a nationality.
