DVD versions available in Canada/U.S.?

Greetings;

I'm curious as to what DVD versions are available in North America. First of all, I assume that only the 125 minute theatrical cut is available (unfortunately). That being said, Amazon.com and .ca list three versions. One domestic, the other an "import", and another packaged with "Bodies, Rest & Motion". The first I've rented. The third, I'm not interested in. But I was curious as to whether the import, which is listed as "out of stock", is any different than the one-disc, regular version. I couldn't find any relevant details in the product specifications.

However, I have seen a two-disc box set version for sale on Ebay. (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6304391556) It's purported to be region one, but being a Chinese export, is it authentic? It doesn't appear to be a bootleg, but why would a region one, special edition show up on the Asian market?

Just curious. I'd be appreciative of any information you have to offer. Thanks!

I know this is a really old message but I figured that I would answer this question since others might want to know. I have seen both version and the import is much better, IMO. However, I don't think it is available in English. It's in Italian and subtitled, at least the one I saw while I was in China. So, I don't know if you can get it here but that is the difference at least. Also, the reason I like the import more is that it is much longer and has a fuller story to it. There are just little things that happen that make the story just that much better. I would get the import. That's what I'm going to do.

Italian DVD by Medusa includes the full-lenght version both in Italian and English language. It REALLY worth a see! As Cinema Paradiso works better in the shorter Academy Awords cut, this one could be seen and appreciate only in director's cut. Just like Leone's Once upon a time in America. Avoid the international cut, get the Italian!
