American DVD????

Hello. I'm from Brazil and would like very much to buy this film in DVD, but it has never been released around here. Can anyone tell me if the american DVD beeing sold at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Legend-1900-Tim-Roth/dp/B000066744/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1196949207&sr=1-1) is 2.35:1 ANAMORPHIC or LETTERBOXED? On the Amazon site they say the film is 2.35 fullscreen, so I'm afraid it may not be anamorphic. So, if you guys have this DVD, could you please help me out?

I don't have the American dvd so I can't answer your question specifically, but I STRONGLY advise you to not buy the American dvd!

The reason is very simple:
Run Time: 125 minutes

The true, original runtime is 160 minutes and the fact that they cut nearly 40 minutes of the film because "the american audience doesn't like to watch that long films" is a unfortunate. And it's unfortunate because they then made the international dvd also only 125 minutes long!

If you truly enjoyed this movie I suggest you to buy the Italian dvd release because that's the original version of the film. It is full-lenght, but in english just as well (except for the menus, of course, but with a bit of help from a dictionary one should manage italian menus. ;)).

I searched internet a bit and found the Italian dvd release on a few places. In fact I even discovered that there are two versions of it in italian, normal and a special edition. Anyway:

I suggest you to buy the Italian dvd release because that's the original version of the film

The Italian dvd is also available on amazon.com. But it's in Region 2 format so unless you have a multi-system dvd player, you won't be able to watch it.

Dont bother with this movie. The acting is horrible. People just dont act like this in real life!

Um, that's why it's a MOVIE. It's not real life. You do understand the difference, don't you? I mean, you don't think there really is a matrix run by computers using humans as batteries, do you? And you know there aren't really any superheroes like Superman, right? Look up the word escapism. If you want to watch real life, watch the evening news and all the murder, robbery, rape, child abuse and war they talk about. Fun, huh?

I can confirm the American DVD is definitely anamorphic widescreen at 2.35:1, and it looks very nice - though as others have mentioned, it is a shorter cut than the Italian version...

I'm looking for a DVD as well. hope there is one on AMAZON
