In the Scene where he's being Fingerprinted, there are Signs saying Hoddle Street and Queen Street
Are these supposed to be some kind of reference to the Hoddle Street and Queen Street Mass Murders of some ten+ years earlier?
Definitely. The signs are lightly blood splattered, and are completely out of place in the film. Both streets are still regonised for these incedents in Melbourne (they happened only a few months apart, and have 7 and 8 people killed respectively).
Appropriate and subtle "touch" in the film, given that it is filmed and set in Melbourne.
