I think this thing would be in the high 6s if we saw more Michael in the first hour. It takes too long to get to the good stuff.

He's in it a lot in the first 15 minutes, and he's seen several times in between then and the ending.

Yeah, the first 15, but short spurts for the next little while. The ending is where it's at. It's still a decent movie and more impressive considering it's a part 7.

the first two acts are really dull but the third act nearly makes up for it

For years it was 5.2. I think changing attitudes and increasing nostalgia towards 80s and 90s genre films have seen a lot of scores for films in that era rise incrementally.
