Deleted Scene

Has anyone ever seen the scene with Sarah and Laurie that ties the entire franchise together? I would really like to see their idea of how it all worked out.

reply

I don't believe it was ever filmed.

reply

As far as I know, it was eliminated from the script well before filming began.

reply

Oh okay then, I had heard from a couple of places that it was shot but cut during production.

reply

Yeah. I can't say for a fact it wasn't filmed, because I've never spoken to anyone involved. I just figure that if it was filmed, we would have seen it by now.

reply

Can someone shed some light, what was the Sarah/Laurie scene supposed to be?

Wow, I actually like that idea for a scene. It's just the kind of depth/reflection needed in a sequel like H20. Even if the scene fails at tying the two storylines together I could still see it being good on its own. Just have Sarah doing a report on events from I & II instead of 4-6 with Laurie still getting emotional & leaving, realizing her past still follows her. Meanwhile Sarah & the classmates look puzzled, not realizing the report is about their very own professor.

I think it would raise more questions than tie, or fail at, together. Why would Laurie have to hear about her daughters demise years later, and the fact that she would have then known that he was alive and kicking after his apparent hospital death.

reply

I agree with you, which is why it's not surprising why the scene was ultimately never shot. Although with a little tweaking (discussing I-II instead of trying to connect 4-6) I think it could have potentially been an interesting scene for the film.

reply

I think they decided not to film it because Laurie is not the type of person to abandon her own child, no matter the circumstances.
