Those who saw it at theatres, what were the audience reactions?

I was only 5 when it came out, so for those of you who did see it at cinema, what were the reactions?

My audience loved it, they were energetic and screaming, and clapped twice, where Laurie Screams Michael's name and when she beheads him.

"See it with someone you love...Go by yourself"

Everyone clapped when they heard, the Mr sandman song. They clapped again when Laurie and Michael was face to face for the first time in 20 years! Then clapped one last time, ( louder than the previous 2 times) when she finally did Michael in!

I thought this was a worthy sequel. Unlike that shit movie H4.

They laughed every time JLC said the F-word.

Cheering at the end.

Accurate. I remember the overall reaction being that this was finally a Halloween sequel done to a high level in all areas.

It feels a little dated in some ways 20 years later, but I still would've preferred it as the finale of the series vs what followed.

I saw it opening weekend, maybe opening night. The crowd was definitely into it, but I think after the ending a lot of people were thinking "That's all?"

My favorite reaction was when it was revealed that Laurie's boyfriend had shot LL Cool J by mistake, half the crowd groaned, and the other half loudly booed. Then when Michael kills him immediately after everyone wildly cheered.

I saw it in the theater and the audience reactions were about what you'd expect.

When Laurie decapitated him at the end, someone in the audience gasped.

It may have been me. lol

I remember them laughing every time JLC dropped an F-bomb.

It got a 10 day advance preview where I lived so we went along with high expectations (it had gotten a 5 star review in Total Film) and left a bit deflated.

It just seemed over so quickly, the body count was low, and it seemed too derivative of Scream with the in-jokes etc.

But I went back while it was still out and liked it more the second time. The end was the most powerful part.

I like it just fine, but it feels out of step, no better or worse than the 2018 film.
