Did Paul not commit suicide because it's a sin?
At the end he says his prolonged lifetime is basically a curse for him, so why haven't he killed himself? Is it because he is afraid of going to hell for it?

shareBased on how he talked to John near the end it did appear he was a man who put a lot in his faith so that's how I took it.
sharePaul did seem to be a man of faith by saying that he believed that God created John's gift of healing, but there might be more to that.
Paul said that his long life was a curse, but I don't think it was and I don't think Paul really meant it either. Was the mouse's extended life also a "curse"?
If Paul stayed alive in pain or with appendages rotting off his body, then yeah - a curse. Otherwise, the vast majority of people would sign up right now for his long and healthy life.
I don't think he believed it was a curse, either. It's the cinema trope about immortality not being the great thing we all imagine it would be.
I think that, if the life/healing was a gift from God, Paul was either the latest recipient or the intended one. Maybe John was just the vessel to show Paul enlightenment and become worthy of this gift. The problem with that is, if Paul had the ability for ....6 decades? and never once used it from what we can see...what was the point of him having it?
I don't think he had all of John's powers, John said that when he took his hands that he gave him a little of his powers to be able to see who killed the girls, he probably only got the extended life and not the whole deal.
