Whale one of the best filmmakers of all time

no one made movies like this guy 'cept for Orson Welles... Whale was, of course, before Welles, and really made the scenery move, and brought the horror genre to light, gave everything a validity you dont find even in horror movies today... FRANKENSTEIN and BRIDE OF... and INVISIBLE MAN are incredible... the acting is good and the special effects, for that time, are good, but it's the directing that REALLY makes these true masterpeices... i think this guy directed 'horror' movies like no one else... his movies have a easiness and a freedom that you don't see in many films made in the thirties...

but oh how, in studying Whale, i get caught up with hearing all the 'homophobia' crap about him and how he was treated and all that, and i say JUST SHUT THE HELL UP to historians, and watch his work, for, like Welles, that is the ONLY thing that matters!

and by the way, DWIGHT FRYE is GOD!
