the acting
The acting was awesome, especially by Sir Ian & Brendan.
I mean I like watching Brendan in comedic roles like Bedazzled and George of the Jungle, but I've learned he is quite versatile.

You should watch "With Honors" or "School Ties." Brendan at his dramatic best.
shareOh man, you're right, I really enjoyed With Honors (love the Madonna song too).
Do you prefer Brendan in dramatic or comedic roles? Actually that's not a fair question because that's why we like him so much because he is so versatile.
I fully agree with you both! He's also superb in these three dramas: "Twilight of the Golds," "Still Breathing" and "The Passion of Darkly Noon." And try watching them back-to-back...he's such a different person in each one...then throw in a little "George of the Jungle." You won't believe it's all coming from the same actor!
Regarding your question to the other poster, Yejide001, of drama vs. comedy...my own answer is, I go back and forth with it, depending on my mood...for awhile I was addicted to his comedies, these days I savor his performance in a nice meaty drama. However, I can go for either at any time, because I think he is equally terrific in both genres--indeed one of the main things I like about him.
And "Gods and Monsters" was my introductory film, so I have always thought of him as a dramatic actor, and find it quite odd when people can't see beyond his comedic roles. I wish more people would realize how incredibly versatile he is.
