Symbolism?
At the end of the film, when Frasier is walking like the monster, is that symbolising his role as the monster and Ian's as the God?

shareThis final shot with the monster's walk was suggested by Fraser to the director, probably to echo Boone's angry comment to Whale: "I am NOT your monster." After having shown his son Whale's sketch, Boone obviously is rather proud of having been Whale's friend.
shareThe title "Gods and Monsters" is symbolic in that the novel "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelley features two characters, one (Victor Frankenstein) who is portrayed as a God and the other (Victor's creation), a monster. If you read Shelley's Frankenstein, you'd understand the symbolism in this movie...it is far more profound than one might think. Contrary to popular belief, I don't think this film is centered on homosexuality.
