best makeup?

i can understand original score, but in comparison to other makeup winners, frida stands out as being remarkably mediocre. if all it takes to win an oscar is a receding hairline on alfred molina and a few extra hairs in between salma hayek's eyebrows, heck maybe ill win an oscar too.

thoughts? sorry to sound rude, but really, the makeup was nothing special at all, unless im missing something entirely (like the man who played her father was actually 15 years old or something)

What a silly remark. This movie didnt win makeup for Salma Hayek's eyebrow. It won the Oscar for its beautiful "living paintings" sequences like The Two Fridas. Everything in this movie was made by an artist's hand, not computers and that's why it won the Oscar and lots of other awards.

I didn't think it was a silly remark at all!
I, too, immediately thought of Frida's eyebrows and Diego's reciding hairline. So thank you for explaining, the Oscar certainly makes more sense now.
