was he shot by the cook with the shotgun, cause he looked really bloody in the end.

No. He was shot in the gunfight with the other guys. The cook shot Kruger (Jake Busey's character) in the back first after Reynolds had said they were leaving. and then he had to reload. And by the time he had fully reloaded his shotgun, the gun battle was over. And he was apprehended before he could shoot Robert Clayton Dean.
