Ginger's final revenge.

After watching the movie recently (tonight actually) and seeing many new things that I hadn't remembered, one thing in particular struck me as funny. At the very end of the movie, despite Rocky having redeeemed himself by coming back in the nick of time, and he and Ginger seeming idyllically happy in their new home, I think Ginger still has some lingering resentment to work out.
The proof? Her very last line:

"Come on, I'll teach you how to play cricket!"

Poor Rocky.

What?

Haha! xD

wow LOL

"Once the vodka gets flowing you never know what's going to happen, really"

reply

I don't get it. What did you mean ? She just said she was gonna teach him cricket.

reply

*sigh* I'm wasted here.

How many Americans do you know that enjoy Cricket? And how many do you know that are even aware of it and the fact that it is one of the most boring and annoying "games" on the planet? Get it now?

I HATE having to explain jokes >_<

reply

I mean seriously, gimme a break. I am from India and find cricket anything but boring. Baseball, the game which most Americans play and cricket are both derived from a common game. There is so much similarity between these two that I just do not get the fact that you can like one and get "annoyed" by the other.

And no, that is not a joke.

reply

Baseball WAS America's pastime. It's been totally eclipsed by other sports.

Cricket is extremely boring, all you do is stand around hitting balls and occasionally run around for no reason.

reply

…Excellent definition of Baseball. At least in Cricket they don't feel obliged to chew their bloody gum as if they wanted the whole stadium to hear their disgusting noise, thinking it's "like, kewl".

reply

Chewing gum isn't so bad (though I do hate to hear people smack it) but the really bad thing is the players who chew tobacco and spit. Vile habit!

reply

im from maryland and we play cricket... but only in gym class xD but i enjoyed it alot, i wish more people here played it...

reply

I understood the joke, but I don't really agree that it was lingering resentment. I think it was more in the line of sharing something very English.

Most Americans don't understand cricket, as the rules are very different from baseball, which has been overtaken as the favorite sport by NASCAR racing.

reply

I found the line to be very friendly, as in "Now I'll teach you about something essentially English." That is, Ginger was SHARING something with him--love blossoming!
