Yes, I know that ants lay eggs, so technically the Queen wouldn't be too old to have a young child. Still, does it ever bother anyone else that the Queen sounds like an elderly woman while Dot, her youngest child sounds like a toddler? (After all, the actress who voiced the Queen was 81 years old at the time...)

shareIf you're going to be that technical then how can you overlook the fact that all Ants (except a tiny number of males used for breeding) are all female.
This is my personal gripe with films like Ants,A.B.L and the dreadful Beemovie.
But then you couldn't make a human type world with human type characters using hive insects like Ants Bees etc if you stuck to reality.
But like others have said "it's just a kids movie"
So suspend your disbelief.

I've always wondered the same thing about Manny, who sounds as if he might as well be telling those flies in the
audience to "get off my lawn" and seems barely able to navigate a dressing room and yet has a wife who's not only a
completely different species but sounds like a high school prom queen
Wouldn't all the ants be her children but just a few were able to be future queens? So she might have been having kids for a while.
