Anyone see a Seven Samurai connection to this movie?
I think Lassester is a fan of that masterpiece.
I think Lassester is a fan of that masterpiece.
I never saw the original movie, but I'm currently watching the Samurai 7 anime, and I the connection automatically came to mind.
sharei literally come here to ask the same question after reading the synopsis 10 years after actually seeing the movie...

The Good the Bad and the Ugly is the greatest movie ever made...
I also am watching Samurai 7 and caught on to the connection.
shareWasn't this movie inspired by 7 Samurai?
You fight like a dairy farmer.
How appropriate. Cue my username.

Yeah, I mean it seemed obvious the both Seven Samurai and Magnificent 7 had influenced the movie. Small undefended poor village attacked by bandits who steal what they worked for. Just a humorous spin instead of fighters they get entertainers.
shareWhen I saw Seven Samurai I realized the connection. Now I'm also feeling a bit of a Three Amigos! (1986) homage in this film, seeing as Flick ends up getting Circus performers when he thought they were warriors. And the Circus bugs thought they were Same thing in There Amigos where a pact of movie stars is gathered to fight an enemy when they think they're going for a performance.
