Are grasshoppers really that aggressive?

This movie seemed very accurate in the way it portrayed the personalities of insects. But I have a bunch of grasshoppers in my backyard, and they actually seem pretty mellow and just mind their business.

I mean, once in a while they gather in the thousands and devour a cornfield until there’s nothing left. To my knowledge they don’t stay together in that group.
