If it is a squeal then you will have to make it an Asian/Interracial. One of the girl was freed in the end of Brokedown Palace.

If there is a sequel, it should be set in Italy and be a fictionalized version of the Amanda Knox story, where Bill Pullman travels to Italy to save a girl falsely accused of murder in another corrupt justice system.
