That's how many people gave this a 5 or under and this movie SOOOOOO does not deserve that AT ALL. It is the best movie ever made in the entire history of movies as far as I have seen, in my opinion, but still, other people should notice how wonderful it is as well.
Who agrees that this movie needs a MUCH higher rating than it has?
Why would I rate a film I absolutely hate based on how well made it is? That might take some part in it, but not most of it. If I enjoy a film, it's done it's job and deserves a fair rating. If I hated it, it's gonna get a low rating with some adjustments for it actually being a well executed film.
Heh I believe bron-tay was being sarcastic. Battlefield Earth is plain crap and if you heard someone say it was cinematic gold, they were either pulling your leg or mistaking it for another movie, or scientologists maybe.
Seriously, Brokedown Palace was a 6 maybe for the effort and it's watchable but I'm not really sure how you can have seen (and liked) movies like 12 Angry Men, American Beauty or Casablanca and believe this movie is the best movie ever made. The narrative is cliché and badly paced, the dialogs are mostly bland and there's no characterization to speak of. Not to mention it's a manipulative tearjerker of the worst kind and ethno-centric in the worst way.
I don't think that either Beckinsale or Danes were A-list actresses at the time that this movie was made/came out, although they certainly both are now.
well danes was defo alist at the time as the film was on the aftermath of romeo and juliet which defo got her into the alist plus it had bill pullman who had done independence day a few years earlier so them 2 had their names by 99.But beckinsales star came later.
