Did this movie saved Marvel's reputation on film?

Afterall Howard The Duck was the first big screen Marvel film but was a box-office flop and got panned but gained a cult following and there was also direct-to-video schlock like Captain America and so on with made-for-tv stuff like Generation X and Nick Fury but this movie is the one that proved Marvel can work on film.

It also saved the Marvel comics company from nearly being bankrupted after the comic crash of 1996 when they licensed their properties to other studios.

Technically this cuts both ways.

I understand Marvel did lots of cartoon/tv shows. They made so much revenue from them; that this movie was just I'd say a joke. They put it for grabs, whatever happens....happens. Now I will say this, because music itself was kinda s h i t t y back then. The Blade Soundtrack to "me" revived dance music/fast tunes. They also mixed techno/electro with with hip hop. So Thank God for this movie's full essence. To me, it saved dance music.

The 1996 bankruptcy.....is it 100% true...was this it's savior.....who knows ?
