How is it at the end of the film red comes out of nowhere and starts ramming Jack? Didn't they have him in police custody? Wouldn't he have been arrested. Either way it was pretty funny.

IIRC, then Red was never arrested or came in contact with the police. He probably just drove up to Jersey and knew where Crews was so he black mailed him.

A) Red was never apprehended by the police.
B) Red was the guy who ran into the electrical transformer so therefore he shouldve have died but he didnt so it made for a really cool ending chase scene.
indeed the last we see of him is on the highway when he crashes, we even see him talk after he crashes
If I remember correctly he utters the best line in the film, at this point
"Damn you Crews! Your ass is mineeeeee!"
