Funny!But What's a pterodactyl?

In the film when Melvin has Keiko hostage he asks if she's hungry n she asks for a pterodactyl? He tells her she's in luck & then asks her if she'd like it cold or nuked? Nuked! But what's a pterodactyl?

reply

It's a terradactyl (the flying dinosaur) is what she was refering to and mark whalberg was refering to having leftover pizza in the fridge.

Hi Lazarus, Thanks but I'm well aware of what Pterosaurs (meaning flying lizard) are, pterodactyls, pteranodons etc existed from the Triassic through to the late Cretaceous period. Usually when people are very hungry they say they could 'eat a horse' & I'm not quite sure she would just randomly mention a pterodactyl when asked what she would like to eat? Not quite buying your answer sorry dude-I thought maybe it was a type of pizza,eg Farmhouse or Hawaiian, n was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to what the toppings were?

Its just my interpretation, but i think they were trying to be cute and witty, in a tense and odd situation, and it just came out. Im not sure, but thats my take, i dont think it was slang for anything Wjevs

Thanks kilcam, if this is the case it's a shame, I'd love to take my 1st trip to New York or somewhere n walk into a pizza joint & ask for a pterodactyl, even Asda or PizzaHut at home - Maybe I'll invent one lol
Regards

A bit late on this, but that's my take on it as well.

pretty sure little caesars pizza uses that kind of meat.

We're not soldiers and he's not the enemy. He's a pizza man.

Where do they get this meat from? Oh wait, they just dig it out from under a glacier, right?

You were joking, right? *looks hopefully*

It’s just so sad that the variety of the world should be used as a contentious issue.

reply

it's something like that!

We're not soldiers and he's not the enemy. He's a pizza man.

Now I'm relieved!

that was easy. i had to go to a shrink for 3 months to get over my last little caesars pizza experience. i was waking up in the middle of the night from a pizza! pizza! nightmare in a faux garlic sweat.

Because the pterodactyl meat was past it's date of expiry?

It's actually spelled pterodactyl...Not terradactyl.

She used "Pterodactyl" as a joke, in reference to 'weird' types of meat, following this exchange:

Keiko Nishi: "I'm so hungry I could a .."
Melvin Smiley: "Horse?"

Exactly.
She was just "one upping" the famous phrase.

It's not that hard to understand really.

And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.

J Mclane,

I agree with you. She was doing a one up on the 'Could eat a horse thing'

I think there is an actual term for eating cold pizza outa the fridge the next morning.

I also think there is term for eating greasy (Donner) Kababs on the way from a night on the grog too.

About signature 'And so, God came forth and proclaimed widescreen is the best.
Sony 16:9' - However, I think god screwed up.

You just reminded me, "Widescreen" TV's should really match the true Fox Cinemascope ratio, which is 2.35:1 (Wider than 16:9), because when movies are broadcast on TV in their true widescreen(anamorphic 2.35:1) format on a 16:9 TV you get black bars top and bottom similar to watching a 16:9 movie on a 4:3 TV set to 'letterbox'.

I had to get a replacement power supply from LG for tablet, luckily the massive LG storehouse is just a few KM's away from my home and I was surprised to see in the little front office was an LG computer monitor that was (I'm guessing, it was a few years ago) like 2 feet high and at least 4 feet or more wide. (2:1 or more) It was cool.
I must go back and ask about it and get a true measurement.

-B!LL!

Some delis back east serve a type of grilled sandwich called a pterodactyl. Its basically different types of meat with some cheese grilled until the cheese melts and served hot.
