What of Spike Lee had Directed it?
I wonder how the film would have turned out if Spike Lee had directed this film.
shareThat is an excellent question. I don't know that that would have made much difference good or bad. He and Spielberg are 2 of the most outstanding present day producers/directors.

Beloved was directed by Jonathan Demme (Silence of the Lambs). Spielberg did a great job with The Color Purple. I wonder how Beloved would have been had Spielberg directed it.
I think Spike Lee would have focused much more on the younger Sethe and the whole plantation and there would have been more speaking parts for white actors who abuse Sethe and the other slaves would have been expanded.
