I thought it was interesting to find out that thandie newton's name "Thandie" means "beloved" in her mother's country. I loved this movie, and can watch it over and over. I get it, and i think alot of people don't get it.

Totally agree! I think that the reason the cast didn't get as much recognition as they deserved was because the movie can be so disturbing.
I saw the movie before reading the book and I have to say that I would not have "gotten" the book as well had I read it before viewing.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful on both ends!
