Now, its considered a cameo where as at the time, I guess it was an extra with lines. Gotta start somewhere.

Exactly. Seventeen years have passed and "Octavia Spenser" is still a name unknown to most movie fans and for good reason: small parts in mediocre films, and larger parts in truly awful films.

I see that I have watched two or three movies in which she appeared, and failed to notice her. Which is not to say that she might not be a very talented actress, but how many make the big time and get name recognition? One in a thousand?

Funny. I just read her name for the first time a few weeks ago. Just a week or two ago, I saw her picture and thought, "Isn't thatthe lady in the elevator in Being John Malkovich?"

That's actually why I came to this board.
