Wow that sounds soooooo crazy!! I wish I was alive back then!! How hard was it to get into that club Anatascia? On a personal note I recently went to Marquee in NYC and it was fun, got to see Paris Hilton and Teri Hatcher, but I don't think it was even half as crazy as I imagine Studio 54 to be.
Nothing Past the Late 80s was or is worth anything to me.
PCism, AIDS, The Jerry Springer mentality and the general mess the world has become... sad.
We will never again see things like Woodstock, Studio 54, and the decadence that was the 80s...
True it was dangerous health wise, and empty in many ways emotionally, but it was a wonderfully loving and innocent time. We didn't worry about what we said, who we said it to, or what the high paid suits might do to us if we offended someone.

I agree with Barb67. The club scene during the 80s was a place to escape and have absolute fun. How I loved it!
Never went to Studio 54, I was too young in the 70s, which was a good thing because I probably would've been strung out and dead by now, if I did go. I had a hard enough time surviving the decadence of the 80s...I never would have made it if I had done the 70s too!

i agree with everyone, it was a different time. drugs and stds were being passed around like the drinks at the bar. then it all ended in '80 then came back from '81 to '86. the celebs were a main factor for its appeal. debbie harry from blondie recalled that she was in a threesome on the club floor, and she saw liza minnelli and bianca jagger chatting with mae west and bette davis on a sofa a few feet away from her. that's how huge studio 54 was back then.
the music was also a major part. i've heard some of the megamixes and they're some of the best out there.
