what was that globe hologram on steve rubell's desk?

when steve fires that lady who's been with him for ten years there is a globe hologram on his desk. where was that coming from? did they actually have those back then? where can i buy one now? i like it!

That's not a hologram. It's fiber optic light display. The top is like a bunch of transparent stringy stuff that opens up and fans out when set up right. It goes into the base. The base distributes light to the top portion and makes it rotate. I have one and I bought mine at Spencers.
