In the original 93 minute studio version, did Shane and Anita have sex?
I know they did in the extended cut, yet... Greg never found out about it. It just seemed odd to have Shane being all flirty with Anita, eventually having sex with her, only for the whole ball on that relationship drop when he starts seeing Julie Black.
Okay, there are like three different versions of 54.
In the original 93 minute version, Shane virtually has no flirty interaction with Anita, other than the dance lesson scene. They do not have sex after his argument with Greg, he just cries to her the bathroom. This is the version that's on Netflix right now.
In the special extended edition that was released before the Director's Cut, Shane and Anita do have sex. This is the studio version you can rent from Amazon VOD.
Just watched the 93-minute version last night and yep, that part is completely gone. He doesn't even cry (as it would make no sense in the context of the other scene they cut out and replaced). They show about a second of the start of that, then cut to a new shot of him talking about he's bummed because he's fighting with Greg, and that's it. End of scene.
