Anyone hear ever play any of the sims video games? The only one I play is sim city. Anyways, I just realized after watching FTETTM many times how fun it would be to play a 'Sims' version of an Apollo mission. I really wish they'd make a new Sims game based on an Apollo spacecraft flight and moon landing or maybe another NASA mission. It can't be too top secret for NASA to release info about a moon mission to allow a video game company to make a game about it, or is it?
I am glad this board is alive. I hadn't seen this series and I love everything related to space, sci fi or not, I really like the Apolo 13 film and for whatever reason I never saw this series. I am watching it right now and I am in the 9th episode or something like that. I really love it, I don't want it to end. Do you have anything you can recomend that is similar?
Anyway. I would love any kind of space program simulation game, where you could take off on a spaceship you created and explore space.
I'm the guy who makes the "worst movie ever" thread in your favorite movie board
CyberVerm, if you want to watch an incredible series that is similar to From the Earth to the Moon but is a documentary rather than a docudrama, and covers much more of the space program, the best I have seen is Rocket Science. It was a series produced for Discovery Channel Canada in 2002. It's fantastic. You can find the IMDB link here. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0428153/. I had a very difficult time finding the DVD set, and eventually found it on eBay.
I agree with Ellis... Kerbal is one of the most amazing, frustrating and rewarding sims. Orbital mechanics... who knew it was so frustrating? And after making a rendezvous...? Amazing.
