Why the Pete Conrad change in casting?
Why did they change actors playing Conrad mid-episode? Once you notice it, it really irks you.
sharePersonally, I think Paul McCrane looked more like the real Pete Conrad.
"Well my name is Jim, but most people call me.....Jim."
He did. Probably Hanks threw a bone to his old buddy Scolari with the initial casting and then Scolari wasn't available later. That's usually why roles are re-cast. But McCrane was so good as Pete that I can't imagine anyone else playing him. The Apollo 12 episode is by far my favorite due to his and Foley's performances.
