This thing made well over 15 million at the box office with a budjet of 5 million. Any other horror movie franchise would have made a sequal in theatre's (take the phantasm series or the hellraiser series) but wishmaster 2,3, and 4 went to video?, this never made sense to me. If they ever make a Wishmaser 5 it should go to theatre's, atleast in minimal release.

I think you must be happy with the fact that even the first one didn't go straight to video! (Not because it wasn't good but because with all this gore there was a risk of having people throw up outside the theatres!)
I enjoyed "Wishmaster" for the simple reason that they used OUTSTANDING special effects for GORE. It has never happened again (at least not to this extent), and I don't think it will be repeated! (For example the special effects in 3 and 4 were a joke!)
Wishmaster was alot of things but gory it was not. I've seen alot worse.
